General
My name is Dushyant Singh Shekhawat, an engineering leader and senior software engineer with 14+ years of experience across AI, web, mobile, backend, infrastructure, and engineering management. I live in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India with my wife and my daughter. I enjoy road trips, reading fantasy and sci-fi novels, learning different technologies and playing video games.
Professional Experience
I've spent 14+ years building software across the full stack. I started as a freelancer and Android developer, moving into backend and full-stack engineering with Ruby/Rails and Elixir/Phoenix, and eventually leading engineering teams. I have managed 10 engineers across two teams and led a technical team of roughly nine at an early-stage company, while still designing systems and writing code.
I like work where software makes a clear difference, such as cutting a 60-minute audit to 5 minutes with AI or building a reporting system that became an important part of a product. I'm particularly interested in AI/ML engineering, distributed systems, and roles where I can stay technical and help shape the product. I also care about healthy schedules, real ownership, clear technical standards, and direct conversations with clients about tradeoffs.
